The Old Harbour and Kittholmen are located about one kilometer from the center of Jakobstad. Up until the mid-19th century, this was the location of Jakobstad’s harbor, bustling with activity centered around the vital maritime trade. Today, the Old Harbor is primarily a popular recreational area with a sandy beach, beautiful forest, marina, and a strong sense of history reflected in the red-painted boathouses and the Shipyard, home to the galeas Jakobstads Wapen and the war reparations schooner Vega.
